Prep Time: 1 hour 45 minutes

Cook Time: 25 minutes

Prepare the Dough:

  • In a large bowl, warm the milk to 110°F (45°C). Sprinkle the yeast over the warm milk and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  • Add sugar, eggs, melted butter, and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix until well combined.
  • Gradually add the flour, one cup at a time, until the dough comes together. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface or use a stand mixer with a dough hook for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.

Prepare the Filling:

  • In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon.
  • Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface into a 16x21-inch rectangle.
  • Spread the softened butter evenly over the dough. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture and chopped bacon evenly over the buttered dough.

Shape and Bake the Rolls:

  • Starting from the long edge, tightly roll the dough into a log. Cut the log into 12 equal slices using a knife or dental floss.
  • Place the rolls in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish. Cover with a damp cloth and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes or until they are golden brown.

Prepare the Frosting:

  • In a medium bowl, beat the softened butter, powdered sugar, cream cheese, vanilla extract, maple syrup, and salt until smooth and creamy.
  • Spread the maple frosting over the warm rolls before serving.
